Rope Course (Challenge Land) ... July 12, 2008

Katie's good friend AJ Birnbaum (good friends of ours here in Budapest) had a birthday party at the Ropes Center (Challenge Land) in the Buda hills. It was really fun for the girls to get suited up to go through the course. Both of them did very well, especially Katie, who once got the hang of it, went through it mostly on her own.

4th of July in Budapest ... July 4, 2008

We celebrated the 4th of July by going to a couple of celebrations. I flew back from Brussels in the morning so I worked the rest of the day from home before leaving for the Embassy 4th of July party at the Marine House (this is our 2nd party at the Marine House in the past few weeks). We witnessed the Marines and the flag ceremony. It was so great to see our flag being flown throughout the complex.
We had a good time there before going to some friends for a 4th of July barbecue. There were no fireworks, but it was great to celebrate this holiday with the kids. We spent last Monday's Family Home Evening discussing the importance of this holiday, what it means, and how blessed we are to enjoy the freedoms we have. We may enjoy living outside of the US, but we are very proud to be Americans.
