Hillcrest Hurricanes Swim Meet ... July 5, 2010

Katie and Ashley were on the Hillcrest Hurricane's swim team. They started out slow, but by the end of the season they were doing pretty well (still not fast, but much improved in form). And they had a lot of fun.

Adam and Marnie and their kids came up for a couple of days. We spent one afternoon at the pool here in Hillcrest.

July Third Fireworks ... July 3, 2010

We went over to the Peterson's for a barbecue and some fireworks. Ryan was totally amazed by them. This was Ashley and Ryan's first "4th of July" in the United States and only Katie's second!

Toy Story 3 ... June 25, 2010

Ryan never would sit down and watch anything on TV until we introduced him to Woody and Buzz and the Toy Story movies. And what a perfect year for Toy Story 3 to come out! We took him to his first movie in the theater and he lasted about 3/4 of the way through before I had to deal with him walking around. But we made it through.

The Magic House St. Louis, MO ... June 25, 2010

We had the annual Stucki Family Reunion in St. Louis this year. It was nice to get together with everyone. We spent a morning at the Magic House, which the kids enjoy.

Ryan NEEDS a Haircut ... June 10, 2010

I debated whether to post these or not. I am not sure who should be more embarrassed, me or him ten years from now.

The girls decided to put Ryan's girly locks into pony tails. I have been trying to convince Heather to cut Ryan's hair for months. She is worried once she does he will lose his curls. I like his curls too, but pictures like this and when he is at the pool and his wet hair is below his shoulders should be convincing enough. He totally looks like a girl.

Katie and Ashley's Dance Recital ... June 6, 2010

Newport Aquarium, Cincinnati, OH ... May 29, 2010

We headed up to Cincinnati for the day to spend some time with Adam and Marnie and their kids, including a stop at the Newport Aquarium. The kids had a great time, as usual.

The Evolution of a Tantrum by Ryan Stucki ... May 23, 2010

Ryan was the perfect baby. And while he is still pretty perfect, he does have his moments (more and more lately). This is the tantrum I realized I caught through photos as I was going through his birthday pictures...



Step 1) Perfectly fine and happy with all his Toy Story presents.

Step 2) uh oh, somebody did something to him (I have no idea what)

Step 3) He starts to run away

Step 4) Takes the swan dive to the floor

Step 5) full on tantrum

Step 6) The "wore himself out he is about to fall asleep" stage

Ryan's 2nd Birthday ... May 23, 2010

I can not believe that Ryan is two. We celebrated his birthday with just our family and then invited our neighbors over for some cake. He is really into Woody and Buzz, particularly Buzz, so most of his presents revolved around that theme. Great that this is the year for Toy Story 3, so a whole new set of toys are out for parents to get ripped off buying. But he was very happy!
He still does not talk, but makes enough sounds that we can mostly understand what he wants. He says "Uzz" for Buzz and "awooo" for Woody (yeah, words only a parent would understand).

Louisville Science Center ... May 14, 2010

Heather took the Ashley and Ryan to the Louisville Science Center with some friends. They had a great time, particularly in the water part. They give the kids raincoats, but I am not sure why, as they ultimately get soaked anyway. But they have a great time doing it!
