Toronto, Canada ... Aug 27 - 29, 2010

Our old babysitter, Margaret, (who was barely 14 years old at the time!) was getting married in the Toronto temple, so we ensured we were there to share this special moment with her. She was a great babysitter and a great friend. She came and visited us in Budapest for a few days as well, so we have kept in touch over the years.

We made the ten hour drive over an afternoon and a morning, stopping for the night in Dayton, OH. Upon arrival I met some old friends from work for lunch and got caught up on all the things going on in my old business there.

We also went by our old house, ate at our favorite restaurants (the Malaysian restaurant, "Restoran" is our favorite!), and stopped by the church. We took a picture with Ashley at the hospital that she was born in. And we remembered how much we LOVED Toronto and the great time we had in a wonderful city with FANTASTIC friends. We miss that the most. And it was great to see a lot of them (many have also moved away) as we attended the wedding and the reception dinner. We got to catch up with some really good people and were glad to see most everyone doing very well.

The wedding and reception were great and we were glad to have made the trip. Katie and Ashley were flower girls and looked beautiful in their dresses and did a good job with their part. And they were very happy to see their old friends, Megan and Madeline.

It is crazy that Margaret is old enough to get married, but as we continue to learn, time does not stop, but actually must speed up.

Katie's Baptism ... July 25, 2010

Katie's birthday continued to be extra special as she got baptized. It was a wonderful experience for Katie and for our family. Grandpa Stucki and Grandpa Larsen gave talks, Ashley gave the opening prayer, and we had a lot of friends and family attend. We are very blessed!

Sophie's Blessing ... July 25, 2010

With Katie turning eight on July 25th and with Sophie being born on July 19th, we decided to bless Sophie on the same day that Katie got baptized. My parents came into town for the weekend, as did Heather's dad and her sister (Dawn) and brother-in-law. It was a fantastic day, starting with the blessing of Sophie at less than a week old. Kym, Heather's sister, made Sophie's blessing dress and it turned out absolutely beautiful!

Ryan's Haircut ... July 23, 2010

So, after exactly 26 months (since his birth), we FINALLY got agreement (ie, Heather agreed) to cut Ryan's hair. It was way too long, and particularly when he was in the swimming pool and it went down to his shoulders. We were worried that cutting it would somehow take away his childhood, as his curls are just part of him. Jamie was kind enough to come over to our house to perform the procedure (yes, if felt like that to us, a rite of passage of sorts) and did a great job keeping the kid in him AND keeping the curls!

Leaving the hospital ... July 21, 2010

We left the hospital with Katie almost eight years ago (eight years ago next week), and now we are leaving with our fourth child. Crazy to have four kids, but I think we'll manage.
