Hong Kong Random Signs

Hong Kong (Victoria Harbor Waterfront) ... Nov 24 -27, 2011

Since our flight was not until late Sunday night, we took the opportunity to spend the afternoon walking along the Victoria Harbor waterfront and Nathan Road.  We experienced the "Avenue of the Stars, Hong Kong", which is modeled after the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Although we only recognized a couple of "stars" (Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee), it was a fun stroll.  We had the paparazzi following us along the way, which at first the girls were enjoying but ultimately got old.

Hong Kong (Temple) ... Nov 24 - 27, 2011

Heather and I each attended a temple session separately.  Heather went on Friday evening and then I attended on Saturday morning.  On Sunday morning we went to church, which is located right across the street from the temple, so we were also able to take the kids around the grounds briefly.

Hong Kong (Stanley Market) ... Nov 24 -27, 2011

We spent most of the day either getting to, getting home from, or actually AT Stanley Market.  This market is fantastic and beyond the shopping aspect, it is a nice place to just sit and relax by the water.

Hong Kong (Victoria's Peak) ... Nov 24-27, 2011

Friday morning we got up and headed downtown to catch the bus to Victoria's Peak.  We thought we were taking the bus to the CABLE CAR to take us to Victoria's Peak, but it was actually the bus to the top.  It was not a particularly clear day, but we were able to see a decent view of Hong Kong below.  We also took advantage of being in the vicinity of some good restaurants and started with Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  We took the cable car back down and trekked our way back to the central terminal, passing through the main markets streets along the way.  Hong Kong is a beautiful city.

Hong Kong Disneyland ... Nov 24, 2011

We took the kids with us to Hong Kong for our branch Temple trip.  We decided to go a couple of days early to enjoy Hong Kong and Disneyland.  We spent the first day at Disneyland, which was nice.  I personally missed the food, as obviously it was going to be different here.  Katie and Ashley have now had the privilege of being at Disney on three continents.  Katie and Ashley and Ryan all got to participate/dance in one of the parades.  They had a great time!
