London Run, London, UK ... Saturday, March 9, 2013

I feel like in any city in Europe, I could run forever. The best way to see a city, I decided, is with a nice long run. Heather flew out from Shanghai to visit me on my weekend layover in London. We woke up Saturday morning and had a nice hour long run around central London. I wish runs were always as exciting as my runs this week!

Zentralfriedhof (Central Cemetery), Vienna, Austria ... March 6, 2013

I had a few extra minutes so I headed out to Simmering (outskirts of Vienna) to the Zentralfriedhof, one of the largest cemeteries in Europe. It is the first in number of interred and second in area only to Hamburg's Ohlsdorf cemetery. On a side note, I also used to live right next door to the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg, so perhaps I am drawn to these places.
The Zentralfriedhof is "home" to Beethoven, Brahms, Strauss, and Schubert, among others. It was built in 1874 to accommodate the growth Vienna was experiencing at the time.

Vienna, Austria...March 6, 2013

This was my run this morning. An hour of joy running through the streets of the most beautiful city in the world.

One of our first blog posts ever is with Heather, Katie and Ashley in the stadt park in front of the "clock". It was fun to run past there 7 years later.

They have an ice path for skating going around the Rathaus. Very cool.

Stookablo out.
