Ry and Beck

Ry and Beck
September 2013

Ryan and Beck have been best buddies since the first day they met at Metro when Beck's mom, Katie, and I were learning how to live and shop in China.  They sat next to each other on a flat bed cart and quickly hit it off.  They started playing soccer together with Sport for Life and had some great coaches. Coaches Jon, Dave and Ash helped train and mold their soccer skills over the four years we spent there.  These coaches really took to these boys and their friends.  We are grateful for them and their dedication to training our boys!!  Sometimes after practice, when our husbands were out of town, we would stop and get a quick dinner at Baker and Spice together.  We loved spending as much time together as we could get!

Century Park Field Trip ... September 2013

Century Park Field Trip
September 2013

I got to go and be with Ryan on his Year 1 field trip to Century Park, which is Pudong's version of Central Park.  The students had a color palate that we had to go and hunt for things in nature that match the colors on the palate.  It was a nice field trip, but the best part was spending time with my cute boy.

Bootcamp ... September 2013

Bootcamp
September 2013

For YEARS I have done my daily workouts at home, or taken my kids running with me in a jog stroller.  Now that I have Sophie in school in the mornings I can take some exercise classes with friends.  It is a whole new, wonderful world for me.  My friend, Jill Burns, teaches classes in my neighborhood that I have been so excited to take.  I started with her boot camp class on Tuesday and Thursdays.  It is the perfect mix of work out and social time for us expat moms to chat and get fit together.  On special days we take our bootcamp to the canal and enjoy working out with a view.  The local Chinese get a big kick out of us and many stop to watch and take pictures.
