Salzburg, Austria
February 16, 2008

Katie and Ashley had a week off for "ski break", so we decided to actually take advantage of it, at least for a few days. We thought it would be fun (and it was!) to travel with Jason and Laura Birnbaum (They moved here from Louisville last year and Jason works with me) and their 3 kids. AJ is Katie's age, Sam is Ashley's age, and Jack is 9 months, so everyone gets along great. We found a "kinderhotel" in Southern Austria (by "we", I mean Laura found one after I spent weeks looking for a location that wasn't too expensive and would allow just 3 or 4 days vs. an entire week), a concept all about the kids (more on that in next post). We decided to leave Saturday morning and stop for a few hours in Salzburg. It was colder than we had anicipated that it would be, so basically we ended up finding a place to eat lunch and making a brief walk through the old town, passed Mozart's birthhouse and then back to the car for the drive to St. Urban, Austria (about 30 minutes from Klagenfurt).
