A couple of Mexican colleagues decided we should walk to the castle Chapultepec after lunch one afternoon. I accomodated them and we made the long trek to the castle, only to find we had only five minutes before it was to close. We took as much advantage of the five minutes as possible. This is the only Royal castle on the North American continent and it housed Emporer Maximilian in 1864. It is also the location referenced in the Marine Hymn ... "From the Halls of Montezuma", referring to the battle of Chapultepec in 1847, when the United States Marines took the castle and Mexico City.
