Ashley's Baptism Day!!
December 2, 2012
What a beautiful day! We were so happy and proud of Ashley that she has chosen to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We were excited to have her baptism on Sunday evening in our home. We invited some of our friends from church, school, and some neighbors over to share this special day with us. Aunt Kymmie and Uncle Mark flew down from Beijing, and Grandma and Grandpa Stucki came from the US. Ashley helped plan a perfect program. Grandma Stucki played the piano, our friend Monique Larkin lead the music, Ryan said the opening prayer, then Grandpa Stucki spoke on Baptism. We went downstairs and to the back patio and Aaron baptized her. Everyone that came to share the day with us was able to watch through our big glass window and door. Aunt Kymmie had made her a beautiful baptism dress, and then we changed her into the dress that I wore the day I was baptized. It was so, so fun for me to see her wear the same dress I wore 30 years before. After we got her dressed and ready we went back upstairs and Katie and Ashley sang a duet of "Baptism". I love hearing them sing together. They sounded beautiful. Aunt Kymmie spoke on the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and then Aaron confirmed her with the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Ashley asked her primary teacher, Brother Randy Clark, to give the closing prayer. We had some yummy food and visited with our friends and just enjoyed the beautiful and special day. It really was such a perfect day. We were so happy.
