Sydney, Australia
February 8, 2013
What a dream come true!! Although, going to Australia was never even a dream of mine because I never thought it was something that would actually happen!! It was so surreal for me to stand at Sydney Harbor and see the Harbor Bridge on one side of me and the Sydney Opera House on the other! Things that were just in movies before were now right in front of me. We spent a fabulous two days in Sydney seeing some of the many highlights. We took a tram tour through Nielson Park, and enjoyed walking through the gardens and taking lots of pictures. Then we took a ferry boat ride in the harbor and the views were amazing. There were the remains of an old prison that was formerly right out in the water of Sydney Harbor. It remixed me of Alcatraz, but not very much of it remained. That evening we met an old EFY friend of mine, Jared Finch, and his beautiful family at a huge and fabulous playground at Darling Harbor. The kids had a BLAST playing there with Jared and Julie's 4 kids, and it was great to catch up with Jared and get to know Julie (pregnant with #5). We then went for a big dinner at Pancakes on the Rocks. YUM!!! We waited a long time in line for a table for our big group, but it was totally worth it! And perfectly cued up were the fireworks over the Harbor that we stopped and watched on our walk back to the car. It was a perfect, perfect day!!
