New York (Dylan's Candy Shop) ... April 7, 2011

We drove down on Thursday morning to the city and parked our car at our hotel.  We stayed around 53rd and Third, which was just barely convenient to all of the sites we wanted to see.  Considering we are six in our family and have a double stroller, New York City is not the easiest to navigate unless you are walking.  Driving is a waste and parking is ridiculous, both from a cost and a logistical sense.  The subway is inconvenient because of the stroller, and we are too many for a taxi.  So, we just walked.  And walked, and walked and walked.  But this was great because the kids were FANTASTIC and we actually got to see a lot more than if we were being transported around.
We checked into our hotel and then strolled over to Dylan's Candy Shop, which was just a couple of blocks from us.  The kids had a great time picking out a bag of candy from the plethora of choices.  And I enjoyed seeing some candy I had not seen in years (Marathon bar, Strawberry Charleston Chew, etc.).
