1st Day of School

Another summer is in the books and we are getting ready to start a big year of school. The night before school started we had a little back to school family home evening and made some goals for the year.  We also made a time capsule that we can open at the end of the school year to see how far we came that year.    

 Katie is starting Year 7 in the Senior School (middle school).  She was rearing to go and I was not as excited.  It makes me sad to see her growing up so fast and becoming more independent.  A Macbook Air is a requirement for senior school, which made Katie feel all the more grown up.  This was also a big year for Sophie.  She is starting Nursery at Dulwich (preschool), and is so, so excited to be in her uniform on the first day of school like the big kids!  Ashley was starting Year 4 (third grade) and Ryan was starting Year 1 (kindergarten).  I guess this would have seemed like a bigger year for Ryan since her was starting Kindergarten, but in the British system that we have been in at Dulwich their Reception year (pre-K) is more like Kindergarten.  He started full time last year, and was already in the school groove. 

She would have been too embarrassed to take a picture in front of the senior school, so I snuck one of her walking down the hallway.  She was off.

Reunited with best buddy Connor!  They are thrilled to be in the same class this year!

Sophie with her new teacher Miss Gemma.  Gemma teaches the Pelicans and Sophie could not be more excited to be a big school girl.  And I LOVE the pinafore dress!
