Potty Training Sophie ... August 2013

Potty Training Sophie
August 2013

I have been dreading this all summer, but Sophie had to be potty trained before she started school at Dulwich.  We only had 3 days from the time we left Utah to the time we were going on a family trip to Langkawi, Malaysia.  When we returned we only had 2 days before school started, so I was going to use the 4 days to get her potty trained.  I was hoping she would be just like Ryan and potty train in one day.  We were in the same situation with him.  School was starting and he had to be potty trained.  I kept telling him that when we moved to China there would be no more diapers and he had to use the potty.  When we arrived at 2 AM to the hotel I took off his diaper and said, "We're in China!  No more diapers!"  And it worked!!!!  He had one accident in Carrefour the next day, but that was it.  So I was crossing my fingers that Sophie would be the same.  I kept on telling her that at the end of the summer, when we got back to China, there would be no more diapers.  On our way home we missed our connection in San Francisco and had to spend the night at a hotel.  So now I lost a day to potty train her, so I decided I would start at the hotel!  I took off her diaper and told her no more diapers.  We sat on the potty often, but she had no accidents.  I put a pull up on her for the plane ride, but she always told me when she needed to go to the bathroom!  Done!  Best potty trainer ever!

The pilot was so nice and invited the kids into the cockpit.  I think I was in the bathroom with Sophie!
