AISB Father's Day/Big Sing ... June 6, 2008
Katie and her class set up this wonderful little presentation for Father's Day. Her teacher thought they always fodo something to celebrate Mother's Day but have never done anything for the Fathers. It was fantastic and Katie was SO excited to give me the cell phone holder that she made me. It was the perfect size! They also presented drawings and descriptions of each father and we had to guess who was being described. Although Katie's made little sense to me (my father likes to come into the room, look at the moon, and say goodnight), she did a great job. After the presentation we went out to the playground with her class. It was great fun and a proud moment of mine to share an afternoon with her at her school.
At the end of the program we went to the Big Sing, which involves the Pre-K and the Kindergarten classes congregating in the Auditorium to sing with the teachers and Mr. Chuning, the music teacher. It ALWAYS includes the "Pants Dance", where the kids have to stand up and dance when their color of pants is called. Katie got to hold up the color pages for the her last "Pants Dance"! It is crazy (and honestly, a little sad for us) to think that she is going to be in 1st grade next year!
