From Chemnitz, we continued on the triangle to Leipzig. Admittedly, I have not seen much of the former East Germany and I wish I could have seen some of these cities immediately after reunification in 1990, to see what changes have been made. Leipzig also was heavily damaged during the war. But the Christmas market was as popular as ever. We spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening strolling the old town, saw Santa at Karstadt (a German department store), and had a nice dinner. We then drove back to our apartment in Dresden.
