We spent a FABULOUS day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Probably the best day of our trip. My sister Kym set up a private tour for us, which was great. Our tour guide, Lei, works at BYU Hawaii, but is from Laie and knew everyone there. We got great seats for the show on the water and went from "island" to "island" to experience each of the fantastic cultures. One of our favorites was Samoa. The guy putting on the show there was hilarious. We found out later that his name was Kap and he is friends with friends that we stayed with that night. (And later a group from the PCC came here to Shanghai and performed at Katie and Ashley's school. Kap and his sons were some of the performers).
That is Kap up in that tree chopping down coconuts!
Most places were very interactive. There was always some type of activity for the kids to participate in.
Ash loved the dancing!
Even Aaron was into the dancing.
Ashley got to join in on the dancing in New Zealand! She did a great job!
This is an amazing boat they the students build and take out on the ocean once a year.
Aaron is also a natural on stage and pretty good on the drums too!
The end of a FABULOUS day. We truly had such a fantastic experience. I would say it was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii.
